Micke at Elitepadel testing the RS Pro Edition Cayetano Rocafort

Our verdict and review for the RS Pro Edition Cayetano Rocafort 2022 after testing the racket is that it is a really good racket for the defensive all-round player who is at an intermediate level. The racket also has a hybrid form of round and drop shape which gives you more of a combination mostly defensive qualities but also some offensive ones.

Our opinion after testing the RS Pro Edition Cayetano Rocafort:

When I tested and reviewed the RS Pro Edition Cayetano Roqafort, I felt that the racket was gentle for the slightly more defensive player who also wants the ability to be able to decide the score when the opportunity arises. The racket is a hybrid of a round and drop shaped racket which then makes the racket slightly more offensive but at the same time doesn't sacrifice too much defensively.

Material

The frame is reinforced with 100% carbon fiber, which makes the racket more resistant to impacts or hard ball hits near the frame. The hitting surface is both aluminum and 3K carbon fiber, so it is soft in nature and gives the player a softer feel in the game. The Eva core is flexible in that it is harder in the middle and gets softer the closer to the frame it extends.

Balance

The medium balance makes it feel easier for the player and can provide good support in both offensive and defensive play. However, it can be more challenging for the player to succeed with proper smashes.

Racket shape

The racket shape is a hybrid between round and drop shape, which provides a good combination of providing the racket with a larger sweetspot and giving better control in the game.

Hard or soft?

Although the centre of the core is of a harder nature, it is more of a soft racket. The hybrid shape between round and drop shape, mid-level balance point and hitting surface that is both aluminum and 3K carbon fiber make it softer and more useful in defensive play.

What level of player is the RS Pro Edition Cayetano Rocafort suitable for
Picture from when we tested and reviewed the RS Pro Edition Cayetano Rocafort

What level of player is the RS Pro Edition Cayetano Rocafort suitable for?

This racket is designed for higher level players to get good use out of it in both practice and matches. There are special features that require more experience to be used in the best way. For example, the flexible core, which is harder in the middle compared to further out towards the frame.

Is the racket best suited for offensive or defensive play?

The majority of the racket’s characteristics provide the most strengths in defensive play, with the soft characteristics of the hitting surface, the core and the combination of the racket shape and a mid-level balance point. Although a higher level padel player can get a lot of power out of this racket during offensive play, it is stronger during defensive positions on the padel court.

Information about the RS brand

The name RS Sports comes from the founder tennis star Robin Söderling. The brand was founded in 2013 and is divided into three genres: sportswear, tennis and padel. It’s probably not surprising that Robin Söderling started out developing clothing, shoes, rackets and more for the sport of tennis. However, it all started with his own designed tennis ball, which he himself says is by far the best tennis ball he has ever played with.

RS loves tennis, quality, materials and clean design. And with all these elements, their fresh new brand for the sport of tennis was created. As they say themselves “Premium products developed by players for players”. Their entire range is produced with the same spirit, in a team of engineers, product developers and well-known players.

RS Padel emerged during the explosive rise of padel and RS quickly decided to partner with padel players with longer experience. So more rackets with good quality and some with unique features would emerge. Their padel range also includes balls, bags and balls. If you want special clothing, their RS Sportswear department can offer a wide range.

Advantages of the RS Pro Edition Cayetano Rocafort

One advantage is that professional player Cayetano Rocafort has collaborated with RS during the development of this racket model. This gives the racket more unique characteristics and can provide stronger advantages in the game of padel, and he himself uses this premium racket during competitions.

A flexible Eva core gives the racket unique characteristics, as it is harder in the middle and softer further out towards the frame. This provides more flexibility during play, but also makes it softer to handle for the player.

The hybrid between round and drop shapes provides the racket with a larger sweetspot, which gives more chances for good full shots on the balls and it also provides the game with better control. The surface of the racket has both a 3D pattern and a more roughened surface, which gives the player very good help when he wants to spin to the balls.

Disadvantages

This is a form of premium racket, which requires a padel player with more experience in the game of padel to be able to handle the padel racket in the best way. In order to take advantage of all the features that it comes with.

Even if the player has good experience in the game of padel, it may be difficult to succeed with smashes like good pressure.
