Micke at Elitepadel reviewing the RS Pro Edition Simon Vazquez

Our verdict and review for the RS Pro Edition Simon Vasquez 2022 after testing the racket is that it is a really good racket for the offensive player who is at an intermediate – advanced level. The racket also has a hybrid form of drop and diamond shape which gives you more of a combination of mostly offensive, but also some defensive, qualities.

Spoiler alert: I who published the article liked the racket so much that I bought it off after we completed our test.

Our opinion after testing the RS Pro Edition Simon Vazquez:

When I tried this racket, I felt that the racket gave a really pleasant feeling both in the defensive and the offensive game. The longer handle not only helps to generate speed in the overhead game but is also ultimate for those who like to hit a double handed backhand. I found that although the racket is more offensively oriented, it also lends itself well to defensive play. So a racket I would have recommended to an intermediate player or the more advanced player looking for an offensive racket with a great looking design!

Material

The frame equipped with double layers of carbon fiber will make it more durable, when the player bumps the racket in the ground or when the ball hits close to the frame. The hitting surface is medium-hard with aluminum and 12K carbon fiber, and underneath is a flexible EVA Pro core which provides a larger sweetspot and more chances for good full shots.

Balance

The medium-high balance is especially helpful for offensive play. The player needs more power and control when facing the high balls. It provides more strength in the explosive game, such as when the game jumps up quickly to smash out the opponents.

Racket shape

The hybrid shape between the drop and diamond shapes allows for a larger sweet spot compared to the diamond shape alone. At the same time, the racket is stiffer in nature, giving more power to the ball hits.

Hard or soft?

This premium racket has several characteristics of being both hard and soft package. A medium-hard hitting surface made of aluminum and 12K carbon fiber, and a flexible core may indicate for a softer racket. However, the flexible core can also be a hard characteristic. Especially combined with a higher balance point and racket shape of drop and diamond.

Information about the RS brand

RS Sports was founded by tennis star Robin Söderling in 2013 and is currently divided into the three genres Tennis, Padel and Sportswear. Robin Söderling, who has a keen interest in tennis, started his production with his own designed tennis ball, as at that time he had not found a model that he thought was a perfect choice.

Both Robin Söderling and RS Sports love tennis, quality, materials and clean design. Hence, these elements accompany all production, so also for the sport of padel. Their goal is always to develop premium products by players and for players. In addition to having players on their team, there are also engineers and product developers so the best range is always produced.

RS Padel started to take shape in the company, during the great advancement of the sport in Sweden. In order to provide players with good quality rackets, balls and bags, among other things.

Advantages of the RS Pro Edition Simon Vazquez

Professional padel player Simon Vazquez has collaborated with RS Sports to develop this premium racket, which provides the insight that there are well-founded features included on this racket. And of course Simon Vazquez himself uses this racket during competitions.

The hybrid shape between drop shape and diamond shape gives rigidity to the racket while combined with the flexible core it provides a larger sweetspot. In other words, it creates more chances to hit full shots with proper power and control.

A balance point placed at a medium level can provide both speed and control in the game, and with a medium hard core and hitting surface, more balance is created. In addition, the racket is equipped with Axis Force, which also helps to create more balance and reduce vibration for the player.

The hitting surface and core can provide strong support to create an explosive offensive game, with proper speed and power in the balls. Along with the higher balance, it also helps to hit back high balls with good power, for example to smash out opponents.

The holes on the racket are strategically planned with smaller holes in the middle of the racket, which get bigger further out on the racket. So it creates a larger area to create good ball hits. And players who like to use two-handed grips will get extra benefit from this model, which has a handle that is 1 cm longer.

Disadvantages

It’s a powerful premium racket aimed at padel players who have more experience in the sport. It requires good strength and technique from the player to make good use of all the racket’s features.
