Varlion is one of the world’s leading padel brands and was founded in 1993 in Argentina. Nowadays, Varlion represents padel players on the World Padel Tour and other major competitions with padel rackets.

Varlion Canon Difusor Carbon Black 2022
Diamond shaped racket that will help you to return more power and speed in the padel game. The offensive game gets maximum strength and elasticity thanks to the VAR-FLEX technology. The handle is longer with a grip that is more grip-friendly. The carbon fiber and fiberglass hitting surface is longer and has holes of varying sizes, to recreate a larger sweetspot and the function of dampening vibrations. Varlion Avant Difusor Carbon Black 2022
Drop-shaped with medium balance and medium soft core. The model’s sweet spot is more favourable as the holes were drilled out in different sizes and further out towards the frame, which here is 100% carbon fibre. An all-round racket, which can provide more help in defensive positions on the padel court, and which has been developed entirely by hand. Varlion LW Summum Carbon Black 2022
This round-shaped racket has been given a sweet spot that is slightly larger than on many other models. A medium balance, a medium hard core, a slightly larger hitting surface and a sweetspot that has larger holes closer to the frame. These features combine to make it easier to hit really good balls. Varlion Bourne Summum Carbon Black 2022
A powerhouse that has a hybrid shape between a drop shape and a diamond shape, thus allowing for a larger sweet spot. It’s easier to get full hits with proper power and with the high balance you get good help for smashes. Medium-hard core, 100% carbon fibre frame with drilled holes of various sizes and larger holes closer to the frame. The hitting surface is double-layered fiberglass, so the racket isn’t too hard. Varlion Bourne Prisma Summum W 2022
Varlion Bourne Prisma Summum W is a racket with a larger sweetspot thanks to the hybrid shape of drop and diamond shapes, and also drilled holes of different sizes. A unique thing about this model is that the frame is not as wide everywhere, but it gets less wide further out where it is only a few mm wide. Which makes it easier when picking up low balls. Two-handed grips can give more power in the stroke and this racket has a handle that is 2 cm longer, so it gives more room to the hands. Read our test and Varlion Bourne Prisma Summum W review.
Varlion Maxima Summum Prisma W 2022
Varlion Maxima Summum Prisma W is a hybrid model with a combination of drop shape and round shape, and has been given a medium balance and a slightly larger sweet spot. The core is medium hard and the carbon fiber hitting surface has unique holes developed during the racket’s production. The outer holes have been made larger and are not round, which makes the air resistance lighter when the racket is swung. More about the Varlion brand
Varlion was created in Argentina in 1993 and it took barely a year before they started production of their own racket model. In 1995 their first racket was produced and in the same year they also managed to produce a racket model, Lethal Weapon, which was two cm wider than the rest of their collection.
Varlion started sales in Spain and eventually moved their production there and it was also then that they started using more complicated techniques in a padel racket. The first was with 100% carbon fiber and 3D molds and the model was named Lethal Weapon.
Some of their unique technologies are that they can drill out the holes during manufacturing, making the hitting surface more durable and therefore less likely to crack up at the holes. On some models, the holes are more unique, as they are larger and more in the shape of a rectangle. This creates less air resistance and gives more chances for hits.

Varlion designations and specifications
Avant: Varlion’s name for a drop-shaped rack
Bourne: A fusion of the former Canon (diamond) and Avant (drop shape) which then generated a hybrid shape between diamond and drop.
Canon: Varlion’s name for a diamond-shaped rack
Hexagon: The design of the racket is in a Hexagon shape which should then make the racket stiffer and more durable
LW: (Lethal Weapon) is a rack with a round shape where the main focus is on control.
Maxima: A fusion of the LW (round shape) and Avant (drop shape), the Maxima is a combination of the round and drop shapes for players who want control but don’t want to lose power.
Prisma: The outside of the frame is shaped like the Prisma and this should then according to Varlion contribute to 10% less resistance compared to a regular frame. This percentage was arrived at after many proper tests in a wind tunnel. It should then make the racket faster to swing through the air. The shape of the frame also reduces the risk of the frame cracking on contact with glass or ground.
Radio: This is a revolution in the manufacture of padel rackets where they have managed to produce racks that come out of their mould with holes already drilled. Thanks to this, the increase is a significant increase in the resistance of the core and a 50% reduction in the use of materials.
S: Rackets with this covering are made with a harder rubber, which is then its optimum playing temperature above +25 degrees C
Summum: Summum means the sum of a number of technologies, these are then:
- A longer grip which then makes it easier to hit, especially backhand, with both hands on the grip.
- A 1 cm longer hitting surface
- Gradual holes pattern where more holes are drilled and then should affect that sweet spot to be bigger.
