Elitepadel can today reveal what Babolat’s new Viper series will look like and what features the rackets have. We have also had the opportunity to test and review the Babolat Viper 2022 models about two weeks before the rackets are officially released on the market – please watch our video below.
The Babolat Viper 2022 rackets come with an updated design where mainly the edges around the rackets enhance the look of each model. The new colourful edges give the impression that the racket will be framed in an appealing way.

Micke at Elitepadel has tested and reviewed the Babolat Viper 2022.
Babolat Viper Technical 2022
The Babolat Viper Technical 2022 comes fully loaded with extra power as usual. The racquet is as before also diamond shaped and stiff which makes it best suited for those who want to play offensively and decide the matches with a lot of power and speed all over the court.
The classic red colour of the Babolat Viper Technical 2022 is enhanced by the new frame around the racket. A really nice touch to enhance the look of the padel racket.
Rackets characteristics:
- Diamond shape
- Top-heavy
- Sweetspot high up in the racket
- 12k carbon fibre surface
- 3D spin
- Vibrasorb system
- X EVA foam inside racket
Babolat Viper Air 2022
The Babolat Viper Air 2022 comes as before with an extra light weight and is designed to play with quick movements especially in front of the net. I myself have been playing with the Babolat Viper Air 2021 for a year and am very happy with the racket. Keep in mind that the Babolat Viper Air has a really hard surface of dense carbon which means that you lose some control but instead get a good speed on the ball from most positions on the court instead.
Rackets characteristics:
- Drop format
- Balance
- Sweetspot in the middle of the racket
- 16k carbon fiber surface
- 3D spin
- Vibrasorb system
- X EVA foam inside racket
The racket is therefore particularly suitable for those who like to play a fast over the whole court and above all like to get ahead and decide in front of the net. The Babolat Viper Air 2022 comes as usual in its iconic blue colour which has also been enhanced by adding more colour to the frame.
Babolat Viper Counter 2022
The Babolat Viper Counter 2022 follows previous years’ Counter models. The racquet offers the somewhat unique combination of a round shape that is top-heavy along with a large sweet spot. The round shape and large sweet spot make the racquet forgiving and easy to defend with – while the top weight helps you get good ball speed on overhead shots.
Rackets characteristics:
- Drop format
- Balance
- Sweetspot in the middle of the racket
- 16k carbon fiber surface
- 3D spin
- Vibrasorb system
- X EVA foam inside racket
It may not be the optimal racket for those who want to dismantle the opponent by playing a constant offensive game, but its unique mixed characteristics make it particularly suitable for those who want to be able to defend themselves extra well and then decide when the situation arises.
Summary
This year’s Babolat Viper 2022 models have been given a pretty substantial design update, which is obviously fun. They have previously been very similar to the models in the Babolat Veron series and we are hoping that the series’ designs do not follow each other as much forward from a design perspective.
