Dopadel Virgo 2022 – Read our Test, Reviews & Opinions

DoPadel Libra review

Our verdict and review for the Dopadel Virgo after testing the racket is that it is an awesome racket for the defensive player who is at a Beginner – Advance level. This racket also has a Hybrid/drop shape which gives you more additional offensive qualities.

DoPadel’s new padel rackets are not only really aesthetically pleasing, they also have a really good quality. The price level is neither the lowest nor the highest compared to competitors.

Our opinion after testing the Dopadel Virgo:

DoPadel Virgo is the sequel to last year's success with the same name, but now they have made the racket, in my opinion, even better looking and equipped it with a slightly softer core. This drop-shaped racket has a really good mix of speed and control and is also the lightest racket in the series.

Material

The DoPadel Virgo has a frame made of both carbon fibre and fibreglass, which makes the racket more durable and softer to use during play. A 100% carbon fibre hitting surface and an Eva Soft Power core, which is laminated five times.

The racket is fitted with a rubber surface. This way the balls never come into direct contact with the carbon fibre surface. This will make the ball hits easier to handle for the player, as this reduces the vibrations from ball hits.

The chosen materials result in a racket that will be softer to play with, regardless of the level of play the player is at. Thus, it may be suitable even for some beginners who want to get a little further in the game.

The balance

The balance point is at an intermediate level, so the racket can help with powerful ball hits in different situations on the court. Combined with the hybrid shape of round and drop, it makes it easier to hit good ball hits.

Racket shape

The DoPadel Virgo has been given a hybrid shape between round and drop formats, which can make it easier to handle for lower level players while also providing more strength to get powerful balls away.

Hard or soft?

Virgo has several characteristics that suggest it’s a soft package. There is a focus on balance, speed and control. 100% soft carbon fibre in the hitting surface combined with the Eva Soft Power core and a rubber surface, which provides soft characteristics and several advantages in a defensive game.

What level of player is Dopadel Virgo suitable for

What level of player is the Dopadel Virgo suitable for?

The DoPadel Virgo is slightly lighter in weight and is more ergonomic for the player, so it can be suitable for players at both lower and higher levels. The racket’s soft characteristics and design are aimed at women at intermediate and advanced levels of play, among others.

However, it is also suitable for beginners and those at an intermediate level who want to get a little further in their game. And for players of different levels who need a racket, which is relieving for muscles and joints.

Is the racket best suited for offensive or defensive play?

With a soft Eva core, a soft carbon fibre hitting surface and a hybrid shape, it offers several strengths for offensive play. The medium balance and combination of round and drop shapes provide strengths in both offensive and defensive play.

The rubber surface of the racket minimizes vibrations from the ball hits, making it more manageable for players of different levels. Another advantage of the rubber surface is that it provides good help in getting a grip on the ball and successfully spinning the balls to the opponents.

Information about the DoPadel brand

The DoPadel brand was founded in 2021 and despite its Scandinavian design, the production takes place in a well-known factory in Spain. Their rackets are handmade and have unique features that are also patented. The rubber surface found on all their models is trademarked.

The rubber surface provides advantages such as giving the balls a better grip, making it easier to succeed with controlled ball hits and to fool the opponents by spinning to the direction of the ball. In addition to this, the rubber surface reduces vibrations when hitting the ball, which makes their rackets more ergonomic for the players.

Another unique feature that their rackets are equipped with is the way they have drilled the holes. Their racket models have no holes in the middle, so that the player feels the same response wherever on the hitting surface the ball hits. This also allows the sweet spot of the racket to be perceived as larger.

Benefits of Dopadel Virgo

For those players who want a racket that is lighter in weight and also softer to play with, the DoPadel Virgo could be an excellent choice. It is easier to swing in the air and the ball hits do not put so much strain on the player’s muscles and joints. This is thanks to a soft hitting surface, core and rubber surface that reduces vibrations.

The rubber surface can also be a great help to give the player better control of the balls and to launch powerful balls with spin. The DoPadel Virgo is suitable for players of several levels, from beginners who want to get further in their padel game up to more advanced levels.

The frame is more resistant to bumps and ball hits close to the frame, as the frame material is made of carbon fiber and fiberglass. This allows the player to be more courageous in shooting balls at low height and close to the wall.

Disadvantages

It is an all-round racket and the characteristics of medium balance, rubber surface and slightly drop shape can help in offensive play. However, it may require a higher level of play and strength from the player to get much power out of the racket in an offensive game.

A padel racket that is lighter in weight is more gentle on the player’s muscles and joints. On the other hand, some offensive players want more weight in their racket to get more help with powerful smashes, for example.
